BHU SET 2018- School Entrance Test is conducted by Banaras Hindu University every year for students seeking admission to classes VI, IX and XI in the Central Hindu Boys’ School and Central Hindu Girls’ School and. Interested students can fill up their form online from March, 2018 onwards.

CHGS: VI – 70, IX – 90, XI Maths Stream – 17, XI Biology Stream – 16, XI Commerce Stream – 25 and XI Arts Stream – 40.

CHBS: VI – 135, IX – 240, XI Maths Stream – 38+50*, XI Biology Stream – 25, XI Commerce Stream – 14 and XI Arts Stream – 14.

BHU SET 2018 Important Dates

Check out below all important dates related to BHU SET 2018. Below mentioned dates are tentative now and the same will be updated once we receive official notification regarding same from the authority:

2. Deadline for submission of online application form 31 March, 2018

6. Notified date of counselling/Admission for external candidates 21-27June, 2018

Eligibility Criteria

Check out below your eligibility for admission to class VI, IX and XI:

Eligibility for Class VI

Candidates aged in between 10 years to 12 years as on September 30, 2018 and cleared class V exam from a school are permitted to apply.

Eligibility for Class IX

Candidates aged in between 13 years to 15 years as on September 30, 2018 and cleared class VIII exam from a school are permitted to apply.

Eligibility for Class XI

Maximum age of candidates should be 18 years as on September 30, 2018. Looking into the educational qualification, they should be class X pass from a recognized Board/University with necessary percentage.

Eligibility For External Students Coming Through SET

For Arts stream, candidates should be class X pass.

For commerce stream, candidates should have more than 40% marks or its equivalent grade.

For Science stream, candidates should have more than 50% marks or equivalent grade.

*Candidates (excluding SC/ST) need to acquire minimum 33% in the School Entrance Test to become eligible for admission. This rule is also application for BHU employees and Physically Challenged (PC) candidates. Criteria for SC/ST category will be according to the norms of KVS.

How to Apply?

An entrance test portal has created by Banaras Hindi University with the web address i.e. (www.bhu.ac.in). The entire application process would be accomplished through this portal only. Please keep in mind SET 2016 application form and information bulletin will not be sold in offline mode, candidates need to fill up their form in online mode.

Application Fee

The university has specified the Application Processing Fee/Entrance Test fee in following way:

For General- Rs. 400/-

For SC/ST category- Rs. 200/-

Mode of Payment

Payment of requisite amount can be done either through debit card/credit card or through “Challan” at any branch of HDFC Bank.

Admit Card

BHU SET 2018 admit card will be e-mailed to the students to their respective email address provided by them during registration process. Students will also receive a SMS alert through their registered phone number. Therefore, I advise aspirants to give their correct and working email address and phone number. Alternatively, candidates are also permitted to download their admit card from BHU entrance exam portal. Candidates who are unable to download their admit card till a week before commencement of the test, they immediately need to contact the School office on the phone number (0542-2398710).

*Candidates need to paste a similar photograph (as they have inserted during application procedure) on space provided in the admit card.

BHU SET 2018 Result

Result of SET 2018 is expected to be available in the month of June, 2018. Candidates will be able to view their result from the official entrance test portal on the notified date.

Selection Procedure

According to the marks obtained by candidates in the entrance test, the university prepares merit list of successful candidates. For getting seat, all successful candidates will have to attend the counselling process.
